Nadia Elena Comaneci

The year was 1976 and she was famous when she scored the most perfect ever 10 on the asymmetric bar during the Montreal Olympic Games. Additionally, she scored six more 10s perfect and made her 14 years of old the youngest Olympic medalist in all categories. Nadia Comaneci not only attracted the attention of others, but she also helped Romania establish itself as a world-class athlete. This sporting icon stepped into spotlight by achieving an unachievable number of points, thereby becoming a hero and spreading the word about gymnastics as a sport all over all over the world. Moreover, it changed the gender perception of female athletes. Her performance in the Olympics is significant enough that the toe movement (release) and her toe step are both named after her in the event's uneven bars. In addition to the Olympics she also became a star at World Championships and European Championships. Her performance have made her one of the top gymnasts to ever compete.
